The first full-length song from our upcoming album, Porta Coeli is inspired by Mark Twain’s “War Prayer”. It stares down the inexplicable duplicity of framing personal deities, faith and religion as justification for going to war. Christian iconography juxtaposed with the horrors of the conflicts waged in its name illustrate the massacres driven by faith and power. Daisy Cutter Pale Ale not only fueled this inaugural session, Daisy Cutter is the name of the weapon charged with clearing large plots of earth from growth and life.

Fittingly, SHADOW OF JUPITER has now recorded the tracks for PORTA COELI, its first album, by this anniversary. It’s off to mixing and mastering for its digital release this spring to be followed by its vinyl release as soon as the gods of grooved wax allow!
